After shaping the two bands from hand-drawn round wire they are finished with sandpaper to conceal the seam. They are then joined together by soldering.
The settings are made by shaping wire in to circles and soldering. Flux is added using a brush before applying heat as it prevents the metal from oxidising so the solder can flow and fill the join.
The setting seats and claws are then added to the band. The metal surface is finished with different abrasives. The final step is setting the gemstones so they are held securely.
